Scuttlebutt Ep 83: Modern Day Marine Day 1 – Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, SgtMaj Troy Black

Hey, Scuttlebutt listeners. This week we are recording from the floor of Modern Day Marine so that we can bring you the events and personnel of this outstanding convention as it’s going on. And we come out the gate firing! Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, SgtMaj Troy Black was kind enough to take some time out of his tremendously busy schedule to stop by our booth and spend a few minutes with us. He talks about his thoughts on MDM and his first experiences with this convention, what MDM shows us about how the Marine Corps views the changing character of war, and his favorite day in the Marine Corps. We also get some insight into the last time someone called him Troy. One of the key milestones we identified when we first started this show was to be able to sit down with SgtMaj Black, so this was really exciting for us. Hopefully we can do more with him in the future. This interview is great and as always, SgtMaj gives us plenty to think about. We hope you get as many take aways from this as we did.

If you’re at Modern Day Marine, please come see us. We’re over by OBJ 1 (the wargaming center), Aisle 2600 and we would love to thank you face-to-face for supporting our show.
