Scuttlebutt 5: Maj Tom Schueman

This week on Scuttlebutt we bring you Maj Tom Schueman: Infantry Marine and Dad. Vic sat down with Tom recently to talk about his article published in this month’s Gazette, where he chronicles his experiences in Afghanistan, being in the thick of the hardest fighting Marines had been involved in since Vietnam, and the Real. Tough. Dudes he served with there. They talk about the shortcomings of “courageous restraint” and the Afghan insurgency before transitioning into his relationships with Sgt Matthew Abbate and Lt Robert Kelly, and finally detailing his foundation, PB Abbate, a retreat in Montana and nationwide support group for all veterans.

The views and opinions expressed on Scuttlebutt are those of the individuals and do not reflect the official position of the Marine Corps Association.
