MCA Launches “Behind the Camouflage” Campaign on Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Quantico, VA, May 10, 2024: Today the Marine Corps Association proudly announces the launch of its groundbreaking initiative, the “Behind the Camouflage” campaign, dedicated to empowering and supporting Marine Corps spouses and families. Timed to coincide with Military Spouse Appreciation Day, this campaign marks a significant step in recognizing the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of military families.

The “Behind the Camouflage” is born out of a deep commitment to bridge the gap in resources available to Marine Corps spouses and their families. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by these unsung heroes, the MCA is moving forward to provide essential education, support, and recognition.

“Our Marine Corps spouses and families are the backbone of support for our servicemen and women. Their sacrifices often go unnoticed, but their contributions are immeasurable,” said Lieutenant General (Ret.) Charles Chiarotti, President and CEO of the Marine Corps Association. “The ‘Behind the Camouflage’ campaign is our pledge to stand beside them, to support them, and to ensure they have the resources they need to thrive.”

The “Behind the Camouflage” aims to provide education, resources, and recognition to Marine Corps spouses and families. The MCA will host Spouse Summits, publish in Leatherneck Magazine of the Marines, launch a podcast, create a virtual resource repository and institute service awards to achieve these objectives.

Incorporating “Behind the Camouflage” into the MCA Strategic Plan aims to achieve several end state goals. These include enhancing the well-being of Marine Corps spouses and families through education and advocacy, bolstering morale, building community, and strengthening retention within the Marine Corps. Moreover, the campaign seeks to reinforce the MCA’s reputation as a comprehensive support system for today’s warfighters.
