Rashelle Minix

Executive Director, Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau

Rashelle Minix joined the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau as Welcome Center Manager in July of 2008, ending her eleven-year career at The Albany Herald. She was promoted to Tourism Director in 2012.  In 2018, the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau became a standalone 501c6 organization, for which she is the Executive Director.  She is Race Director for the Albany Combos® Marathon and Half Marathon.

Rashelle was chosen as the Southeast Tourism Society’s Rising Star in November 2012 and was awarded the Larry Allen Leadership Award in September 2015 at the annual Governor’s Tourism Conference. In 2019 she recieved a Special Recognition Award from Georgia Recreation and Parks Association. She is Past President of the Georgia Association of  Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rashelle was recognized twice as Southwest Georgia’s Top 40 under 40.

Rashelle is also active in the community.  She currently serves as School Board member for Baconton Community Charter School, Albany Technical College Foundation Board, and is a member of Women In Network. She is a graduate of Leadership Albany Class of 2008, Georgia Academy for Economic Development Class of 2012, and Leadership Institute Class of 2015,

Rashelle is married to Markus Minix. She has three children Zach, 22, Mary Frances, 18, and her bonus daughter Anna and son-in-law Hoyt.  And one beautiful granddaughter Amelia.
