BTC Community Catalyst
Recognizing the catalysts who turn connection into lasting community.

The Community Catalyst of the Year Award recognizes a Marine Corps spouse or community member who strengthens connection and belonging across the Marine Corps family. Community Catalysts are the people who make others feel welcomed, included, and supported by building relationships, creating spaces to connect, and helping families find their footing through every season of military life. Their impact is seen in people who feel less alone and more supported because of them.
Eligibility
- Open to spouses, family members, and other community members who actively support the Marine Corps.
- Must reside in one of the designated regions: East (includes Europe and Middle East), West, or Pacific.
Criteria
Nominees demonstrate:
- Connection & Inclusion: Creates welcoming spaces where spouses and families can connect and feel they belong.
- Consistent Community-Building: Shows reliable, ongoing commitment to bringing people together.
- Support in Action: Helps families access resources, encouragement, and peer support
- Leadership Through Service: Encourages others to participate, contribute, and care for one another, strengthening the community over time.
Nomination Process
- Nominations may be submitted by any member of the Marine Corps community.
- Include a description of the nominee’s impact and how they strengthened connection or support within the community.
- Supporting materials are welcome (letters, testimonials, photos, etc.). These items can be sent to [email protected] following initial nomination.
- Nominations are accepted March 15 – April 30
Selection Process:
- A Selection Committee comprised of distinguished spouses, community members, and senior Marine Corps leaders will review all nominations.
- The committee will evaluate nominees based on the outlined criteria and select one recipient from each region: East (includes Europe and Middle East), West, and Pacific.
Award Presentation:
- The awards will be presented in December 2026, at the Marine Corps Association Annual Luncheon in Washington, DC.
- Each recipient will receive a physical award and be featured in Behind the Camouflage podcast and associated media outlets.
