Unit Library
Success in the next battle depends upon preparation today. These libraries allow Marines of all ranks to access books that are on the Commandant’s Professional Reading List, enhancing their professional military education. Our Commanders’ Unit Library Program gives Marines the tools they need to develop as leaders and critical thinkers.
Commanders’ Forum
From Day One at Boot Camp and Officer Candidates School, Marines embrace their heritage and learn to appreciate the study of military history. his program provides battlefield studies and guest speakers to help Marines grow as tactical decision makers and leaders. By studying the lessons of history, a great deal about leadership, warfighting, and the complex challenges faced before our time can be learned, and those lessons applied to today’s operations.
Marine Excellence Awards
The Marine Corps Association Foundation provides awards to recognize exceptional performance across the Corps including thousands of awards at professional schools and within military occupational fields. From boot camp honor graduates to Marine of the Year awards, and even up to extremely competitive awards like the Leftwich Trophy, the Marine Corps Association Foundation honors outstanding Marines of all ranks.
Writing Contests & Awards
Writing contests range in topic to include leadership and training, operational concepts and employment, innovation, new technical developments, and irregular warfare.
Unit Magazine Subscriptions
Active Duty and Reserve Marine Corps units are eligible for a complimentary unit subscription funded by the Marine Corps Association. A subscription includes receiving five copies of Leatherneck Magazine and the Marine Corps Gazette on a monthly basis.
