BTC Community Changemaker
Recognizing the changemakers turn bold action into a stronger future for Marine Corps families.
The Changemaker of the Year Award recognizes a Marine Corps spouse or community member who turns a real need into a real solution by launching or leading an initiative that creates measurable, lasting improvements for Marine Corps families. Changemakers are builders and problem-solvers who don’t just support the community, but strengthen it through results.
Eligibility
- Open to spouses, family members, and other community members who actively support the Marine Corps.
- Must reside in one of the designated regions: East (includes Europe and Middle East), West, or Pacific.
Criteria
Nominees demonstrate:
- Measurable Impact: Led a project or initiative with clear outcomes that improved Marine Corps family life.
- Sustainable Results: Created change that can continue beyond the nominee (repeatable, scalable, or enduring).
- Leadership in Action: Mobilized people, resources, or partners to implement solutions.
- Collaboration: Worked effectively with others (families, organizations, or leadership) to expand reach and effectiveness.
Nomination Process
- Nominations may be submitted by any member of the Marine Corps community.
- Include a description of the nominee’s impact and why the outcome matters.
- Supporting materials are welcome (letters, testimonials, photos, etc.) and can be emailed to [email protected] following initial nomination.
- Provide contact information for both nominee and nominator.
- Nominations are accepted March 15 – April 30
Selection Process
- A Selection Committee comprised of distinguished spouses, community members, and senior Marine Corps leaders will review all nominations.
- The committee will evaluate nominees based on the outlined criteria and select one recipient from each region.
Award Presentation
- The awards will be presented in December 2026, at the Marine Corps Association Annual Luncheon in Washington, DC.
- Each recipient will receive a physical award and be featured in Behind the Camouflage podcast and associated media outlets.
