Rifle Marksmanship Training

THE scope of this training is clearly enunciated in the Basic Field Manuals, extracts from which I shall quote. "Military rifle training is divided into two parts. Rifle marksmanship (known distance firing), in which the men are taught, individually, to be good shots; and Musketry, in which they learn to act as a team under the leadership of squad, section and platoon leaders to obtain the maximum fire effect on an enemy.
