THIS article is prepared in the hope that it will be of some aid to that harassed, mud-encrusted, muchexhorted, little-appreciated, generally exhausted individual who actually pulls the trigger, as well as to his equally harassed and over-worked squad and section leader, platoon and company commander.

If perchance any hard-hearted bearers of gold-braid and rank should cast their logistical-data-scarred eyes upon this humble page, it is hoped that they will reflect upon wisdom of worthy Chinese philosopher, Confucius, who say :
