Two Corps Marine and Chaplain

Volume 27, Issue 6

Edward Lincoln Smith II

ONE for the book, is the item that there are three officers in the Navy who have the right and the honor to claim membership in two Corps. Three of us, all on active duty, are serving in the Chaplain Corps and have served in the Marine Corps. Furthermore, we all served as enlisted men and all three of us have good conduct medals to show that we were a credit to ourselves and to the Marine Corps. All of us, upon discharge, went to college and theological seminary, and then reentered the Navy in the Chaplain Corps.
