Birthday of the Corps
HISTORY records that the Continental Congress on 10 November, 1775, saw fit in its wisdom to provide for the creation of a body of troops who should also be "so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve to advantage at sea." On 10 November, 1939, therefore, we celebrate our official birthday in varying fashion, wherever there may be a large or a small group of us gathered, from Peiping, China, to the Virgin Isles in the Caribbean.
