The Sand Table As Applied in Topography

Volume 5, Issue 2

Maj Edwin N. McClellan

ONE hears very little on the subject of the sand table as applied to teaching topography. To the best knowledge of the writer there is no book that deals with the subject, yet it is considered so important by Marine officers who are instructors at the Marine Officers' Training School and the Marine Officers' Infantry School at Quantico, Va., that every student who takes up the subject of topography gets his start in connection with the sand table.
