The time-worn adage: ''The Marines have landed and have the situation well in hand" has solid substance to it.

Periodically, as a newspaper man "covering" service activities-which has included eight continuous years at Marine Corps Headcjuarters and the Navy Department -I have heard on the outside of the supposed tremendous public contact organization maintained by the Men Who Are First To Fight.
