Book Review

Volume 9, Issue 2

IN THE PATH OF THE TRADE WINDS. (Legends of Hawaii.) By Cora Wells Thorpe. G. P. Putnam's Sons, New York.

As a result of residence in Hawaii, while her husband, Colonel George C. Thorpe, was on duty there, Mrs. Thorpe has made a most interesting collection of the legends of the people of the Hawaiian Islands which is published in her book, "In the Path of the Trade Winds." During her residence, Mrs. Thorpe acquired a most exceptional acquaintance with the language and customs of the natives and an extremely intimate and sympathetic understanding of their psychological process.
