The Marine Band Marches on

Volume 19, Issue 4

A mighty column marching through the Court of Honor roars past the White House. Soldiers, sailors, marines, veteran and civic units pay honor to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, the newly inaugurated President of these United States. In the reviewing stand, a miniature in white of the Continental Congress Hall of Philadelphia, he receives the salutes of the passing organizations. Color and rhythm and noise. Blue, khaki, grey-green of the regulars, brilliant splashes of the Legionnaires and the bands: while over the heads of all the gaiety of the flags, national, state, regimental.
