Marine Corps Winners of the Herbert Schiff Memorial Trophy
On 18 January, 1934, the Marine Corps was again honored for an instance of excellent performance of duty when the President of the United States presented the Herbert Schiff Memorial Trophy to First Lieutenant David L. Cloud, Jr., U.S.M.C., commanding officer of Observation Squadron Seven-M (Marines). This squadron had during the fiscal year 1933 made the best safety record in fying of all the aviation squadrons awl units of the U. S. Navy.
