Recollections of the 1912 Cuban Expedition
ON the afternoon of May 22, 1912 residents of the Navy Yard at Norfolk, Virginia, were probably startled by sounds resembling a near riot over at the Marine Barracks, where the Marine Officers' School was then located. Jubilant "Student Officers" rushed about packing books and clothing for storage with the Quartermaster.
