IN THE GONDRECOURT TRAINING AREA

THE Fifth Regiment of Marines under command of Colonel Charles A. Doyen, arrived at St. Nazaire, France, on June 26, 1917, the First Battalion landed on June 27,1917, and by July 3,1917, the entire Fifth Regiment was ashore under canvas.
