Volume 13, Issue 2

Dion Williams

HONORABLE Thomas S. Butler, representative in Congress of the Eighth Pennsylvania District, died in Washington on May 20th. His death deprived the country of a veteran elder statesman and the Marine Corps of a friend whose place may never be filled.

He was born in Uwchland, Chester County, Pennsylvania on November 4, 1855. He received a common school and academic education, specializing in law, and was elected to the 51st Congress and all succeeding ones until his death.
