MARCH 1st: 1860, Marines and Bluejackets land at Kisembo, Africa, from Marion, to protect American interests; 1918, Brooklyn, carrying 125 Marines, arrives at Vladivostok, Siberia, and Marines land on June 29th.

March 2nd: 1867, Colonel Commandant Jacob Zeilin commissioned Brigadier General Commandant.
