A System of Instructions for Officers of the Marine Corps

THE instruction of officers of the Marine Corps at the present time is obviously one of the most important questions that the Headquarters of the Corps must deal with, since on account of the tremendous expansion and diversification of its work, the Marine Corps is now called on to furnish officers equipped for a far wider range of duties than ever before. The Military art in general has also expanded, new forms have appeared, the old familiar branches we have studied for many years have been greatly enlarged and they all need much more thorough study to acquire proficiency.
