U. S. Marine Band to Play for Bicentennial

WHEN the United States Marine Band takes its place in the various celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the birth of George Washington next year that world-famous organization will add a singularly appropriate touch of history to each occasion. For, according to the United States George Washington Bicentennial Commission, the Marine Band traces its beginnings to a drum and fife corps formed in 1775, at the beginning of George Washington's own national career.
