Increased Membership: the Marine Corps Association

The Marine Corps Association, organized April 25, 1913, at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to disseminate among its members knowledge of the military art, to provide for the improvement of their professional attainments, to foster the spirit and preserve the traditions of the United States Marine Corps and to increase the efficiency of its members, found itself at the cross roads about six months ago. Out of the Marine Corps commissioned, commissioned warrant and warrant officer personnel, aggregating 1178, only 403 officers were enrolled as active members.
