George Lince was determined to get into battle as a Marine. He was 17 years old after Pearl Harbor, and when he went to enlist, the Marines noticed his poor eyesight and told him to get lost.

Lince was determined to get into battle as a Marine. He concealed his age and registered for the draft. When an officer came looking for volunteers for the Corps, Lince raised his hand.
