In Memoriam: Foster Parmelee Jr.

Foster Parmelee Jr. died in Featherston, New Zealand. He was 73.

He served in World War II after graduating from Princeton University and later joined the State Department as an economist, working with the Department's Intelligence Research Division, the Agency of International Development and the Population Office until his retirement in 1973.

During his career he was assigned to Japan, Guinea, West Africa and Vietnam and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War.
