Youth Physical Fitness Program

Recruiters from the New York City area have been building men through the program they initiated in 1958.

IN 1958, Marine recruiters in the New York City area initiated the Youth Physical Fitness Program. Their purpose was to take positive action on then President Eisenhower's plea for a stronger youth throughout the nation, and to follow through with the motto, "The Marine Corps Builds Men."
