The Marine Corps Mustang Association named LT Paul A. Hyder, USN, Chaplain Corps, an Honorary Member during a ceremony on 25 August at The Clubs at Quantico. Chaplain Hyder enlisted in the Corps immediately after high school and spent four years as a motor transport operator, serving at Camp Pendleton, California and Okinawa, Japan. He spent the next eight years working as a prison guard in his home state of Texas, where he continued to grow in his Christian faith. Hyder said he felt God was calling him to serve a greater need so he attended seminary and became a Navy Chaplain. Hyder has deployed to Iraq and is now serving as Chaplain for Marine Corps Base Quantico. Read the rest of Chaplain Hyder’s story in the upcoming December issue of Leatherneck.
