The two paintings by the noted aviation artist, Jason Breidenbach, that will be auctioned off are:
“A Trio of Marine Aviation Icons”
This Leatherneck cover painting is an unframed 16" X 20”, oil on canvas and celebrates the centennial of U.S. Marine Corps aviation by depicting three Marine aviators whose far-ranging impacts on aviation positively influenced, not just Marine aviation, but all military aviation. Depicted are the first Marine aviator Alfred A. Cunningham; World War II Ace and Medal of Honor recipient Gregory “Pappy” Boyington; and the first African-America Marine aviator and first African-American Marine General Officer, Frank E. Peterson Jr.
"Marine Aviation Through the Ages"
This original, one of a kind painting, is an unframed 20” X 20” Marine Corps Gazette cover oil on canvas painting celebrating 100 years of Marine Corps aviation. The aircraft depicted are the first operational aircraft of past eras, the present era, and the future: the Curtiss C-3, the F-35 Lightning II, the F-9F Panther, the DeHavilland DH-4, the F4U Corsair, the MV 22 Osprey, and the UH 34 Choctaw.
The paintings will be received by the highest bidder on each painting at the close of the auction. Bids start at $300. To see the two aviation paintings, register and place your bid click here.
