MCA&F Honors Marine Musician of the Year

The associate editor of the Marine Corps Association & Foundation’s Leatherneck magazine, MGySgt R. R. Keene, USMC (Ret), presents Cpl Nathan Davenport, the Commandant of the Marine Corps’ Marine Musician of the Year 2012 with a crystal plaque. Cpl Davenport is a member of the Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band. The Marine Corps Musician of the Year awards ceremony was held during the annual Marine Corps Music Leadership Symposium at the General Alfred M. Gray Research Center, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., on December 17, 2012. Cpl Davenport was also awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal by Major General Joseph L. Osterman, Commanding General, Marine Corps Recruiting Command, who represented the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

The Staff Noncommissioned Officer Musician of the Year for 2012 is SSgt Terri L. Kopetzki, Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band. SSgt Kopetzki was unable to attend.
