DESCRIPTION:Run\, walk\, row\, or bike 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) in our Shores of Tripoli 20 virtual run on April 27\, 2024. \nThe second line of the Marines’ Hymn\, “to the shores of Tripoli\,” pays tribute to the Battle of Derna where Marines fought in their first battle abroad against the Babary pirates. The origin of the Marine officers’ “mameluke” sword can be traced back to this battle and the sword 1st Lt Presley O’Bannon received as a gift after the battle. \n*Virtual run date begins on April 27. Participants must complete their virtual distance by May 1\, 2024 \nThe first 250 registered participants will receive an exclusive race pin with this year’s logo. \n  \n

SUMMARY:2024 Modern Day Marine Expo
DESCRIPTION:Modern Day Marine is the largest military equipment\, systems\, services and technology exposition exclusively targeted to Marines and the Corps. The show floor hosts more than 300 exhibitors displaying the latest warfighting innovations and technology\, presentations from influential Marines and DoD personnel\, the OBJ1 Wargaming Convention\, and more. \nRequirements\nModern Day Marine (MDM) is open to Department of Defense active duty and reserve service members and their families\, members of the Marine Corps League and/or Marine Corps Association (the MDM Co-Host organizations)\, Defense Industry affiliated personnel\, law enforcement\, industry/consultant representatives\, and invited international guests. Suppliers\, manufacturers\, consultants and other non-exhibiting entities may also attend the expo for a $300 registration fee. Attendees must have an “identifiable relationship with the United States Marine Corps.” MDM is not open to the general public.
