Inside the September 2014 Leatherneck Magazine

Col Mary Reinwald, USMC(Ret), editor of Leatherneck Magazine, gives us the backstory to some of the articles in the September issue.

Marine history and human interest figure prominently in the September edition of Leatherneck with moving stories about the bloody, World War-II battle of Peleliu 70 years ago and a story about the more recent but also hard fought battle of An-Najaf in 2004, Iraq.

Ninety year old Marine veteran Don Harris who made and survived 5 of the most prominent WW-II opposed landings in the Pacific is profiled along with Bill Miller a Marine veteran who now heads the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service.

A brace of additional stories along with Leatherneck’s regular features round out an issue you are sure to enjoy!
