SgtMaj Micheal P. Barrett, 17th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, At the Singleton Distinguished Lecture Series

Leatherneck contributing editor Arthur P. Brill Jr. attended Sergeant Major Micheal P. Barrett’s stirring address to Staff Noncommissioned Officer (SNCO) Academy students at the Marine Corps University (MCU), Quantico, Va., earlier this year. SgtMaj Barrett, the 17th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps (SMMC), was the featured speaker in the Sergeant Walter K. Singleton Distinguished Lecture Series. Sgt Singleton was killed in action in Vietnam and was awarded the Medal of Honor.
