Javelin Thrust 2012: Large Scale Exercise-1 Tests 1St Meb's Crisis Response Force Capabilities

As temperatures soared well over 120 degrees in July, more than 5,000 Marines and sailors from 38 states, joined by Canadian forces, converged on Twentynine Palms, Calif., for the largest annual Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRRS) exercise with the activeduty Marines from 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade.

Large Scale Exercise-1/Javelin Thrust 2012. conducted from June 29 to July 12, served as an "aid to construct" for develop! ng the Large Scale Rxercise (LSF.) concept set forth by the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James F. Amos.
