TIME was when an ancient Gunny with 29 years in the Corps could cumshaw a transfer from his last duty station to another one, a grenadethrow away. Across-the-street transfers are rare in this computer age, but they do happen -and without the benefit of cumshaw. We don't know exactly how MSgt Josephine Davis felt about her hop-skip-and-a-jump transfer from her desk at HQMC in the Navy Annex to the billet of Administrative Assistant to the Editor-Publisher at Leatherneck, located on the Annex "outpost," Henderson Hall, but, happily, we rolled out the welcome mat.
