A new honor, a mark of highest historical recognition, has been announced for the Commandant's House and the Marine Barracks, 8th & "I" Streets, Washington, D.C.
The house and barracks together have been designated a "National Historic Landmark" by the Secretary of the Interior, on the recommendation of the Advisory Board on National Parks, Historic Sites, Buildings, and Monuments.
