Gunny Says Ncos Are at Fault

Volume 46, Issue 10

Trust & Confidence Missing

I CONCUR WITH CAPTAIN BETHEL'S article, Protectionism: Modern Malady (GAZETTE: May '62), but believe that he has left some points uncovered.

This altitude of "looking out for number one" is not only prevalent in civilian life and on the unit commander's level but has seeped down to the Junior NCO level and has even taken hold of a large number of non-rated personnel.

How many times has one heard these expressions: You can't do this or that. It can't be done because we tried it. The heck with it.
