Showing Appreciation: MCA&F Hosts Annual Luncheon for Sponsors

The Marine Corps Association & Foundation hosted its annual Thank You Sponsor Luncheon on Dec. 13, 2013, at the Rheingarten Restaurant in Stafford, Va. The event brought together sponsors including those who have supported MCA&F for more than 10 years.
Col Scott Olsen, USMC (Ret), who served in the Corps for 32 years on both active and reserve duty, was one of nearly 40 sponsors who attended the luncheon. Col Olsen currently works for Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. and came to show support for MCA&F.
“It’s important for Booz Allen Hamilton to be a sponsor. We like to be associated with anything that can assist the Marines. It’s a great program. They do good things for the Marines,” said Col Olsen.
Nearly 140 corporations of all sizes supported our events programs in 2013 which included MCA’s 100th Anniversary Celebration, the Hawaii Professional Dinner, the Milwaukee Professional Dinner, the Camp Lejeune Dinner and Luncheon, the West Coast Dinner (near Camp Pendleton), and our event programs in Crystal City and Quantico.
“Our sponsors are an integral part of the support that we provide for our Marines including the award winners and their family and friends. I like to treat each and every one of them as partners as we continue to grow and improve our events programs. The success of [these] events is dependent on each of our sponsors and we truly appreciate all that they do for our Marines through their businesses and support of our event programs,” said Director of Events and Corporate Foundation Development LeeAnn Mitchell. She’s been with MCA&F for 8 years and her team is the lynchpin of these events.
During his opening remarks MCA&F’s President and CEO MajGen Edward Usher recognized the stalwart support of these sponsors.
“I want to thank you all for your corporate support over the last years,” he said. “It’s an honor for you to go the distance it takes to maintain the membership and support.
These sponsor luncheons are held once a year – always right before Christmas.
The Marine Corps Association Foundation is a 501(c)3 public charitable foundation that was established in 2009 and partners with the Marine Corps Association—an organization established in 1913 by the United States Marine Corps to fill the void in programs that could not be supported by appropriated funds. It maintained that mission when the Marine Corps Association became a non-profit organization in the 1970s and continues to meet those goals through the joint efforts of the Marine Corps Association & Foundation today.
