Military Get Free Admission To Valley Museums
Active military members and their families can visit the Allentown Art Museum and three Historic Bethlehem properties for free through Labor Day as part of the new Blue Star Museums program.
In partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, more than 700 museums across the country will give free admission to military personnel during the summer.
The Allentown Art Museum is offering free general admission to the museum and to the two special exhibits "In Stitches: Quilts from the Allentown Art Museum Collection," and "Myths, Religion & Ritual: Indian Art from the Koblenzer Collection."
Historic Bethlehem Partnership will offer free admission to the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts and the 1810 Goundie House.
Other regional museums participating are Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm, Stroudsburg; Fonthill Museum, Mercer Museum and James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown; Brandywine River Museum, Chadds Ford; and The Barnes Foundation, Merion.
The program is open to active members of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve with a Geneva Convention Common Access Card, a DD Form 1173, or a DD Form 1173-1, and five immediate family members.
