2012 Virginia International Tattoo

Friday, April 27, 2012 - 19:30 to Sunday, April 29, 2012 - 23:00
Scope Arena, Norfolk, Va.

The Virginia International Tattoo, a signature event of the Virginia Arts Festival, celebrates the military and its impact in all of our lives and returns April 27-29, 2012 to Scope Arena, Norfolk, VA. With nearly 900 performers from all over the world on one stage – a choreographic feat – the Tattoo offers a remarkable display of camaraderie and teamwork. This annual show of patriotism and international goodwill draws visitors from all over the region and the world.

As always the five branches of the United States military are represented. There is little that can compare to the emotional tribute to our local military members and their families. When the bands play each branch’s fight song, active duty and retired members and families stand at attention. The crowd roars with delight and in honor of those who have served and are currently serving to protect our freedom.

Returning again is the very popular Tattoo Hullabaloo! Two hours prior to each show, the Scope Plaza comes alive with dancers, musicians, and more with Tattoo trademark style. Visitors interact with Tattoo performers, watch stage performances, indulge in great food from local vendors, enjoy a drink from the beer garden and even vote in the audience-judged piping competition.

Ever evolving, the 2012 Virginia International Tattoo cast includes bands from Albania, Australia, Belgium, Canada, NATO Headquarters, The Netherlands, New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States. For more information, please click here or contact Dominga Gardner at dgardner@vafest.org or (757) 282-2820.
