“The Few, The proud.” The United State Marine Corps was established November 10, 1775 in the early days of the American Revolution. To welcome future Marines and celebrate the Corps, The Marine Corps Association and Foundation (MCA&F) mailed out thousands of “Congratulations Marine” cards to friends and family of the Corps celebrating the birth of the Brother/sister hood. The cards travelled a great distance with post marks worldwide as far away as Japan, Germany and the Philippines. Many cards were sent back with notes from family, friends, and yesterday Marines expressing their feelings, telling their stories and congratulating today’s Marines.
