Rob Rubrecht joined the Marine Corps Association in August 2009 as the Marketing & Membership Director. In that role he is responsible for all marketing functions and the development of a comprehensive communications plan to acquire and retain MCA members, demonstrate the benefits of membership, and tell the MCA story.
Prior to joining MCA, Rubrecht spent 23 years in the newspaper industry as a circulation professional. His newspaper experience includes operations, home delivery distribution, acquisition and retention marketing, and single copy marketing. He has held positions at a wide variety of newspapers including The Times (Trenton, NJ), The Herald & News (Passaic, NJ), Bucks County (PA) Courier Times, Dow Jones & Co (The Wall Street Journal & Barron’s Magazine), and The Fayetteville (NC) Observer.
Most recently he was with the Newspaper Association of America as the Director of Circulation Marketing. In that role, he spoke at more than 60 national and regional conferences, wrote more than 100 articles for the newspaper trade publications, and was responsible for researching, writing and editing several NAA publications including Circulation Facts, Figures & Logic (2005, 2007, 2009 editions); The Single Copy Buyer Study 2006; Sustaining Single-Copy Sales Through Partnerships: Merchandiser of the Year Awards, and Managing for ABC Compliance. Rubrecht also developed and launched the NAA Web site, Subscriber Acquisition & Retention II: Strategies, Tactics and Models.
Rubrecht is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in Speech Communication & Rhetoric and English Writing. He also served four years in the United States Air Force at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX. He enjoys coaching athletics, playing golf, and writing the occasional karaoke song.
