On 13 March the Secretary of Defense announced that the President made the following nominations:
LtGen Richard F. Natonski has been nominated for appointment as the Commander, Marine Corps Forces Command and reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general. LtGen Natonski is currently serving as the Deputy Commandant (DC), Plans, Policies, and Operations, HQMC.
MajGen Duane D. Thiessen has been nominated for appointment as the DC, Programs and Resources and for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general. MajGen Thiessen is currently serving as the Assistant DC, Programs and Resources, HQMC.
MajGen John M. Paxton, Jr. has been nominated for appointment as the Director, Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5, Joint Staff and appointment to the rank of lieutenant general. MajGen Paxton is currently serving as the Chief of Staff, Multinational Force-Iraq.
MajGen Dennis J. Hejlik has been nominated for appointment as the Command General, II Marine Expeditionary Force and appointment to the rank of lieutenant general. MajGen Hejlik is currently serving as the Commander, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune.
