General Officer Anouncements
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced on 21 April that the President had nominated the following Marine Corps colonels to the grade of brigadier general:
Col John J. Broadmeadow. Col Broadmeadow is currently serving as the Commanding Officer, Combat Logistics Regiment 17, Camp Pendleton.
Col John W. Bullard, Jr. Col Bullard is currently serving as Head of Aviation Weapons Requirements, Headquarters Marine Corps, Washington, DC.
Col Steven W. Busby. Col Busby is currently serving as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commandant for Aviation, Washington, DC.
Col Herman S. Clardy III. Col Clardy is currently serving as the Director, Expeditionary Warfare School, Quantico.
Col Lewis A. Craparotta. Col Craparotta is currently serving as the Commanding Officer, 1st Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton.
Col Robert F. Hedelund. Col Hedelund is currently serving as the Military Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy, Washington, DC.
Col Frederick M. Padilla. Col Padilla is currently serving as the Chief of Staff, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico.
Col Michael A. Rocco. Col Rocco is currently serving as the Commanding Officer, Marine Aircraft Group 39, Miramar.
Col Richard L. Simcock II. Col Simcock is currently serving as the Director, Tactical Training and Exercise Control Group, Twentynine Palms.
Col Vincent R. Stewart. Col Stewart is currently serving as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Al Anbar, Iraq.
