Default Naval surface fire support [NSFS]

I come to this forum as a Marine veteran. I served last as a Naval gunfire radio team with the 11th. Marines. I was discharged March 1961 as a Lance Corporal. My experience with NSFS as it is now called was limited to trips to San Clemente island. Most of my experience was with 155mm at 29 Palms. But I can say NSFS is a most effective and lethal fire support. I like the fact that we can stay on target at length and deliver ordnance with accuracy and enormous power. We were on target with two radio transmissions. The CWS ships I've read about in the 12/08 issue make very good sense to me. I miss the Marine Corps, it shaped my life and for this I will be ever grateful to it. My very best to you all at the Gazette.
