Curious as to what everyone thinks of the generalization of communications Marines......Good or bad idea? Realistic?

Comm is a field that has changed so significantly in the last 10 years that the Corps has not kept up. Even in the rifle company a significant part of the comm plan is data and data paths and software applications vice voice radio. I found a greater need for a network engineer than a wireman at the infantry battalion level.
