Default The nature of war is unchanging...

Nukes changed the character of some aspects of war.

    1) nukes deter war between major powers armed with nukes
    2) planning for combat in a nuke environment was/is always hard to fathom, the shear destructivenss of the bombs is nearly impossible to comprehend
    3) because nuke war is so difficult to comprehend it gets ignored
    4) nukes cause armies to think of dispersed operations
    5) nukes cause nations to think of limited wars
    6) nukes in th hands of uncontrolled 'rogue' agents (nations or groups) is truly frightening and must be controlled-driving certain national actions including limited wars

War remains a violent clash of oppossing wills...

Well, there is always the Marine Corps' 60 second Nuclear Defense Plan: That's where you run for 30 seconds then dig for 30 seconds.

Seriously, in this current muslim war environment, the first nuke that goes off, the world will be changed forever......and not for the better.
