Applebee's Says Thank You to Veterans and Troops With Free Meal on Veterans Day
In what has become a neighborhood tradition, Applebee's will again thank our nation's veterans and troops by inviting them to their neighborhood Applebee's for a free signature entrée on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011.
For the third year, Applebee's will salute our nation's military, hoping to top the 1,024,000 million free meals served last year from coast-to-coast. Since Applebee's first began thanking the military with a free meal, restaurants have served more than two million veterans and active duty military members on their day of remembrance and respect.
"We say 'Thank You' with a free meal but this day at Applebee's is really more about creating connections," said Mike Archer, president of Applebee's Services, Inc. "At every Applebee's on Veterans Day, military gather to share stories, meet up with old friends and make new ones. It's our favorite day of the year and we are honored to serve and thank them again this year."
Applebee's is offering a Veterans Day menu including some of its signature and favorite items, including the:
7 oz. House Sirloin
- Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger
- Three Cheese Chicken Penne
- Chicken Tenders Platter
- Oriental Chicken Salad
- Fiesta Lime Chicken®
- Double Crunch Shrimp
Guests will need to provide proof of service, which includes: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, photograph in uniform or wearing uniform, DD214, Citation or Commendation.
Offer is valid for Dine-in only. Traditional sides are included with the free entrees; 2 for $20 appetizers, upgraded side items or extras, beverages, desserts and gratuity are not included.
For more information, guests should call their local Applebee's or visit www.applebees.com.

I want to relay my many thanks to everyone at Marine Corps Association and Military Historical Tours for providing me the opportunity to experience such a wonderful trip to Russia. Had I not won this trip through MCA I may have never taken advantage of such fantastic travels. The group, the Russian Tour guide (Oleg Alexandrov) and Charlie Dunn were wonderful companions during the trip. It will be a memory I will cherish all of my remaing days on this earth.
Again, Many thanks and Semper Fidelis!
You have been the easiest person I have ever dealt with since I have started MWR out here. You were very quick to respond to my every question and very knowledgeable about your work for an order over a phone that was my greatest experience. If you were in the Marine Corps Skylar I would write you up for a meritorious promotion. I will surely write it in my books to pass the word to the next MWR rep to continue the membership with you guys.

Thanks for the email; I purchased the two Marine Corps. Cups for my brother who served with the First Marine Div. in Vietnam . He was very pleased with the cups and I was very impressed with the purchase. The online catalog did not do the product the justice it deserved. Thanks again and I am sure you will hear from me in the future.
Jessica,
Thank you so much for taking the extra time and making the extra effort
to ship another hat to me for my husband last week. The second hat
arrived last Thursday... and he was tickled with it. Although it may be
"only a hat" it is a very special hat in many ways. He will always be a
proud Marine dad, and your kindness is very much appreciated.
Ma’am,
I received the shipment of plaques, books and certificates today for
mail call. It was more exciting to me than candy or magazines! Thank
you very much.
Semper Fi,
Ms. Pappas,
Congratulations. You are more responsive and informative than any other website contact I can recall. I appreciate that very much. It’s really nice to have someone like you at the MCA “front door.”
Sincerely, Alfred
I received my blouse last Friday and want to thank you for your efforts
in getting things done. Also, please thank the tailors involved in
making everything right and please give my sincere thanks to those who
made the decision to make the necessary corrections at no charge to me.
That in itself says a lot about your organization. The blouse fits
like a glove and actually looks and feels like new.
Thank you and all the staff who had a hand in correcting a problem and making an old man happy. Semper Fi
Sincerely,
I received them this morning. Thank you so much for your help! you guys are awesome and you will have my business for any uniform or military need in the future as well as a hearty recommendation via word of mouth to anyone who wonders where they should purchase uniforms from!
Louise,
I just wanted to say thanks so much for making sure the uniform got back
to me in time for my commissioning class's photo. It fits me well and I am so excited for commissioning which takes
place in 17 hours! Thank you again!
Very Respectfully,
Ma’am,
Just wanted to let you know that I got the sword yesterday with time to spare. It showed up unscathed due to the excellent packing job despite the rough postal process. And most importantly it looks great and the Bahraini’s couldn’t be happier! Thanks again for all of your assistance.
