It’s working!

Every morning I wake up and eat a hard-boiled egg. Three hours later, I consume obscene amounts of Greek yogurt with fruit. For lunch, I get to scarf down nearly half a pound of food. A little later, I munch on some cheese. By dinner time, I’m so stuffed I can hardly fit the rest in. By doing this I’ve lost 7 pounds since last Thursday.

This new diet I’m on is amazing. Because it’s balanced by a doctor specifically to meet my needs, I’m rarely hungry. I just have to make sure I weigh everything I eat on a food scale and eat the correct portions. I’m eating 1,200 balanced calories a day. I don’t get many choices of what to eat, but I have already gotten into a groove.

My husband and I are both doing this diet, and we’ve made a sort of lifestyle out of it. Every night we get the next day’s food ready: we weigh out our yogurt, cook the next day’s lunch, measure out our fruits and veggies, and pack it into little containers. The whole process takes about an hour, and it’s extremely calculated. Anything that yields these results, though, is absolutely worth it.

The only bad thing about this diet is the lack of energy. I’m tired from about 2:00 until bed time. It’s putting a knot in my workout schedule; however, we make sure to get out of the house to do something active all day, all weekend.

Aside from the energy loss, I feel great. It’s comforting to know that I have the support of a trained physician. I know I’m not doing thing in an unhealthy manner, so I don’t feel like I’m guessing or being too strict. I have the support of trained professionals, now.

If I’ve lost 7 pounds since Thursday, I can’t wait to see how fast I’ll make weight for the Marine Corps!

Diet

I think you could lose more weight if you tried an Atkins style diet. It works very well and fast. I lowered my Cholesterol and got rid of a lot of my allergies after just 6 months of being on this diet. The first two weeks are the toughest. In one year, I lost 48 pounds and lowered my total cholesterol by 100 points.

That is great to hear! Good for you! I am enjoying this diet very much. What makes it awesome is the fact that I have to see the doctor once a week, and she'll keep me on track.
