I am the mother to three children, a teen, one soon to be kindergartener, and a toddler; I always joke that the rollercoaster of varying stages between the three of them will make for a good book someday. Well, I was fortunate to be introduced to the book that actually paralleled a lot of what I am experiencing: “If I Have to Tell You One More Time…”, which was written by Amy McCready, outlines how empowering our children can actually empower us and create a more nurturing environment. The book discusses everything from sibling rivalry to techniques on how to approach our children’s behavior while changing how they react to us.

So you’re probably wondering why I am introducing this here. Why through the Marine Corps Association? Well, Amy is also the creator of Pay It Forward Parenting, a series of online courses that help parents with an array of issues. One day, while she was watching the Oprah show that spoke about military families, she realized she had wanted to be doing something for our military community, but she wondered what.
