Good-bye Blackberry, see ya later laptop, out of office reply on! Today is my son’s 3^rd birthday, he is my last baby boy and when I began to contemplate what would be a perfect gift, I realized it is simple: our time. My husband, who is serving as a Marine Corps recruiter, and I with my various commitments to different organizations have limited time where we are all together.  So, for this birthday, I am disconnecting all electronic communications and we are taking off to the beach for a much needed getaway.

As important as my goals are to me, nothing is of more value than family. So, I would like to challenge everyone to step away from Facebook, shut off the Twitter and steal some time out of your day to do what you maybe don’t often get to do. Enjoy your children’s laughter, wine and dine your spouse, or maybe just take a nice walk away from the daily stresses of life. Whatever you choose to do, I hope it gets added to your most memorable moments of life. The world will not stop if we disconnect ourselves for a little while for the sake of our families, you deserve it. See you next week.
